เริ่มตั้งแต่จีนหันมาเปิดประเทศและใช้ระบบเศรษฐกิจการตลาด  ด้วยค่าแรงที่ถูกกว่าของสหรัฐ สินค้าจีนได้ถูกส่งไปตีตลาดสินค้าสหรัฐฯพังยับเยินจนคนอเมริกันเอ่ยปากในเทศกาลคริสต์มาสว่ามันเป็น Chinese Christmas เพราะสินค้าประเภทของขวัญแทบทุกอย่างในเทศกาลคริสต์มาสมาจากจีน เพราะราคาถูก ใครเล่าที่ไม่ชอบของถูก

The second round: The financial war.

One factor that made Chinese goods cheap in the eyes of Americans was the fact that the US dollar could be exchanged for more yuan, allowing them to buy more goods from China. Given this situation, the US Treasury Secretary once flew to negotiate with the Chinese government, requesting a yuan appreciation so that Americans would buy less Chinese goods. But China refused. Because China knows that the US dollar is no different from toilet paper.
