ทำไมต้องถือศีลอด? และทำไมต้องในเดือนเราะมะฎอน?

คำตอบคือเดือนเราะมะฎอนเป็นเดือนที่พระเจ้าประทานคัมภีร์กุรอานแก่มนุษยชาติเพื่อเป็นทางนำในการดำเนินชีวิต ไม่เฉพาะคัมภีร์กุรอานเท่านั้น นบีมุฮัมมัดกล่าวว่าแม้แต่คัมภีร์ศุฮุฟ คัมภีร์เตารอต คัมภีร์ษะบูรฺและคัมภีร์อินฮีลก็ถูกประทานลงมาในเดือนรอมฎอนเช่นกัน

ตามคัมภีร์กุรอาน “เดือนเราะมะฎอนเป็นเดือนที่คัมภีร์กุรอานถูกประทานลงมาเพื่อเป็นทางนำในการดำเนินชีวิตของมนุษย์” แต่คนที่จะได้ประโยชน์จากคัมภีร์กุรอานก็คือ “ผู้ที่ยำเกรงพระเจ้า”

สาเหตุแห่งการประทานคัมภีร์เป็นทางนำแก่มนุษย์ก็เพื่อที่มนุษย์จะได้มีคู่มือหรือมีแนวทางในการดำเนินชีวิต เพราะมนุษย์เกิดมาในสภาพอ่อนแอและไม่รู้ ถ้าไม่มีคู่มือการใช้ชีวิต มนุษย์ก็จะใช้ชีวิตไม่เป็นและมนุษย์เองจะได้รับความหายนะ ไม่ต่างอะไรไปจากบ้านเมืองที่ไม่มีกฎหมายคอยควบคุม

ศาสนาจึงเป็นกฎหมายจัดระเบียบสังคมมนุษย์ก่อนที่สังคมมนุษย์จะมีรัฐบาลหรือรัฐสภามาทำหน้าที่ออกกฎหมาย และถึงแม้จะมีกฎหมาย หากประชาชนไม่กลัวหรือไม่ปฏิบัติตามกฎหมายจะด้วยสาเหตุใดก็ตาม กฎหมายจะไร้ประโยชน์

ศาสนาก็เช่นกัน ถ้าหากคนนับถือศาสนาไม่เกรงกลัวผู้ออกกฎศาสนาและไม่ปฏิบัติตามศาสนา ศาสนาจะไม่เกิดประโยชน์อะไรแก่ผู้อ้างตัวว่านับถือศาสนานั้น

คัมภีร์กุรอานกล่าวว่าการถือศีลอดได้ถูกกำหนดแก่ผู้คนที่นับถือศาสนาก่อนหน้าสมัยนบีมุฮัมมัดนับเป็นพันปี เช่น โมเสสและพระเยซูเคยถือศีลอดเป็นเวลาสี่สิบวัน แต่ปัจจุบัน มีสาวกของโมเสสและพระเยซูจำนวนน้อยที่ดำเนินรอยตามแบบฉบับของสองนบีผู้ยิ่งใหญ่ สาเหตุ

เมื่อนบีมุฮัมมัดอพยพไปยังเมืองมะดีนะฮฺ ท่านเห็นชุมชนของลูกหลานอิสราเอลที่นั่นถือศีลอด ด้วยความเคารพในโมเสส ท่านได้สั่งให้มุสลิมสาวกของท่านถือศีลอดเช่นนั้นในปีถัดไป แต่เมื่อพวกลูกหลานอิสราเอลไม่ยอมรับคำสอนอิสลามของพระเจ้าที่ท่านนำมา พระเจ้าจึงบัญชานบีมุฮัมมัดและสาวกของท่านให้ถือศีลอดในเดือนเราะมะฎอน และเพื่อให้ชายหญิงมุสลิมถือปฏิบัติได้ พระเจ้าจึงให้มุสลิมถือศีลอดโดยงดเว้นจากการกิน การดื่ม การเสพ การมีความสัมพันธ์ทางเพศ และความชั่วทุกอย่างตั้งแต่ก่อนดวงอาทิตย์ขึ้นจนถึงดวงอาทิตย์ลับขอบฟ้าไปแล้ว

การถือศีลอดโดยงดสิ่งจำเป็นในชีวิตตลอดช่วงเวลากลางวัน ทำให้ผู้ถือศีลอดได้รับบทเรียนว่าของจำเป็นยังงดเว้นได้ด้วยความศรัทธาในพระเจ้า แล้วทำไมสิ่งที่ไม่จำเป็นเช่นอบายมุขจะงดเว้นไม่ได้

For that reason Fasting was set up with the same purpose: to allow the fasting people to feel the fear of God who gave religion and to fast in Ramadan because this month was the month of the Quran. Was revealed

The Quran says that fasting has been imposed on people who were religious before the Prophet Muhammad, for a thousand years, such as Moses and Jesus, who had fasted for forty days, but today there are a number of followers of Moses and Jesus.
