The Quran relates that when Abraham mentioned this matter, God asked him, “Do you not believe?” Abraham said, “I do, but I ask so that my heart may be at peace.”

Abraham wanted to see how the dead could be resurrected so that he could teach the truth about this matter to people with confidence.

So God ordered him to tame four birds. Once the birds were tame, he was to slaughter them and chop them into pieces, and place each piece of the bird on a separate mountain. After that, he was to call on all the birds by the name of God. When he did so, the separated pieces of each bird came back together as a living bird that flew back to him.

In this way, Abraham clearly realized that God is the one who gives life, gives death and makes the dead come back to life again.

The belief in one God as the creator whom humans must worship and the resurrection after death is a belief that Abraham has passed on to his descendants to this day.

The Prophet Isa or Jesus also taught this belief. Not only that, God also had him perform a miracle by molding a bird from clay and bringing it to life. His followers tried to pass this belief on to him.

The Quran tells that after the time of Jesus, a group of young men entered the Roman Empire to spread the belief in one God among the people who worshipped idols and stars. Therefore, this group of young men were taken to the king for trial and punishment. But because Theodosus, the Roman king at that time, gave the young men a chance to think and change their beliefs, it was during this time that the young men fled the city, hid in a cave and fell asleep due to exhaustion.

The Quran calls these boys the “Cavemen”, and Christians know them as the Seven Sleepers of Ephesus.

Not only did the Romans reject the belief in one God, but they also debated the resurrection after death.

The boys were sleeping in a cave, exhausted. When they woke up, no one knew how long they had slept. Hungry and afraid of being caught, one of the boys volunteered to go out of the cave to buy food. When the boy went into the city to buy some gold coins and gave the merchant some gold coins, he was asked where he got them, because the coins the boy gave him were used two hundred years ago.

Upon hearing this, the boy realized that he and his friends had been sleeping for two hundred years. He told them the story of himself and his friends in the cave. Fortunately, by that time, the Romans had already converted to Christianity. However, the Romans were still arguing about the resurrection after death. When they heard the story of the boys sleeping in the cave, the Romans began to understand and believe in it.

The story of the cavemen happened hundreds of years before the time of the Prophet Muhammad. But this was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad as a proof or sign to the Jews and Christians at that time that the illiterate Prophet Muhammad had received knowledge from God so that they would accept him as the prophet they had been waiting for.
