ทุกศาสนามีคำสอนเรื่องโลกหลังความตายเพราะโลกหลังความตายมีจริง แต่การจะไปที่นั่นได้  มนุษย์ต้องผ่านความตายเสียก่อน  ไม่ต่างอะไรจากการมายังโลกนี้ที่มนุษย์ต้องผ่านการคลอดจากครรภ์มารดามาก่อน  ดังนั้น มนุษย์จึงมีความเชื่อในเรื่องนี้มาตั้งแต่ดึกดำบรรพ์  แต่หากความเชื่อในเรื่องนี้ผิดตั้งแต่ต้น  มันจะมีผลต่อชีวิตของมนุษย์ทั้งในโลกนี้และโลกหน้า

เท่าที่ผ่านมา  มนุษย์มีความเชื่อในเรื่องโลกหลังความตายแตกต่างกันดังนี้ 

มนุษย์กลุ่มแรกเชื่อว่าโลกหลังความตายไม่มี  คนกลุ่มนี้เชื่อว่ามนุษย์เกิดมาในโลกนี้เพียงเพื่อกิน นอน ถ่าย  สืบพันธ์และตายไปเหมือนกับการตายของสัตว์ทั้งหลาย  ผลที่ตามมาก็คือมนุษย์ที่ไม่เชื่อในเรื่องนี้จะใช้ชีวิตเหมือนกับคนที่ไม่กลัวกฎหมายและคุกตาราง

มนุษย์กลุ่มที่สองเชื่อว่าโลกหน้ามีจริง  แต่มีความเชื่อที่แตกต่างกันไปอีก

ในอิสลาม  เมื่อมุสลิมได้ยินข่าวการเสียชีวิตของใคร  คัมภีร์กุรอานสั่งให้มุสลิมกล่าวว่า “อินนาลิลลาฮ์ วะอินนา อิลัยฮิรอญิอูน” ซึ่งหมายความว่า “แท้จริง เราเป็นของพระเจ้า และเราจะกลับไปหาพระองค์อย่างแน่นอน”  การพูดเช่นนี้เป็นการเตือนตัวเองว่าวันหนึ่งเราจะกลับไปหาพระเจ้าผู้เป็นเจ้าของชีวิต 

คำพูดเตือนสติดังกล่าวบอกให้รู้ว่าเมื่อวิญญาณของมนุษย์ออกจากร่างไปแล้วจะไม่กลับมาโลกนี้อีก อนาคตของวิญญาณซึ่งเป็นชีวิตที่แท้จริงจะดีหรือร้ายขึ้นอยู่กับการกระทำของมนุษย์ที่อยู่ภายใต้คำบงการของวิญญาณ  ดังนั้น วิญญาณจึงต้องรับผิดชอบ   มนุษย์จะขอพรให้ใครเข้าสวรรค์อย่างไรก็เป็นเรื่องของมนุษย์  แต่ผู้ที่จะให้ใครเข้าสวรรค์คือพระเจ้าผู้ทรงสร้างและเป็นเจ้าของสวรรค์  

คำสอนของอิสลามมีความชัดเจนว่าคนที่จะเข้าสวรรค์ต้องเตรียมตัวขณะยังมีชีวิตในโลกนี้  และสิ่งที่ต้องเตรียมนั้นมิใช่ทรัพย์สินเงินทองที่เป็นวัตถุ  เพราะชีวิตในสวรรค์ไม่ต้องการปัจจัยยังชีพเหมือนในโลกมนุษย์ที่ต้องทำงานเพื่อให้ได้มันมา  แต่สวรรค์เป็นโลกแห่งการตอบแทน  สิ่งที่ต้องเตรียมไว้ก็คือ “ความยำเกรงพระเจ้า” นั่นคือ เมื่อพระเจ้าใช้ให้ทำสิ่งใดก็ทำตาม  เมื่อพระเจ้าห้ามสิ่งใดก็งดเว้น

All religions teach about the afterlife because the afterlife is real. But to get there, humans must first go through death, no different from coming to this world where humans must go through birth from their mothers' wombs. Therefore, humans have believed in this since ancient times. However, if this belief is wrong from the beginning, it will affect humans' lives both in this world and the next.

In the past, humans have different beliefs about the afterlife as follows:

The first group of humans believes that there is no afterlife. This group of people believes that humans are born into this world only to eat, sleep, defecate, reproduce, and die like animals. The result is that humans who do not believe in this will live like people who do not fear the law and prison.

The second group of humans believes that the afterlife is real, but their beliefs are different.

One group believes that when a person dies, their soul will return to their body in this world. Therefore, with this belief, while they were alive, the Pharaoh accumulated a lot of wealth and kept his body mummified. Not only that, the Pharaoh also ordered the mummification of his favorite pet because the Pharaoh believed that after he died, His soul and that of his favorite animal will return to his mummy and he will be resurrected to enjoy the happiness of this world after death.

Another group believes that after death, he will go to another world. The Chinese have believed this for a long time. Therefore, while alive, the Chinese will prepare their own coffins and burial places. Filial children will prepare coffins for their parents. After death, their children will burn the necessities of life such as houses, refrigerators, televisions, cars, clothes and other amenities made of paper and send them to their deceased parents in the belief that life in the afterlife will be comfortable if they have these necessities.

Jews, Christians and Muslims who continue the belief in the monotheistic God all have the same belief in the afterlife. This belief is called by words that come from events that will happen after death, such as the Day of Resurrection, the Day of Judgment, the Day of Retribution, etc.

In Islam, when Muslims hear the news of someone's death, the Quran instructs them to say "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un", which means "Truly, we belong to God and to Him we will certainly return." Saying this is a reminder to ourselves that one day we will return to the God who owns life.

These words of warning tell us that once a human soul leaves the body, it will never return to this world. The future of the soul, which is the true life, will be good or bad depending on the actions of the human being under the command of the soul. Therefore, the soul must be responsible. How a human being asks for someone to enter heaven is a human matter, but the one who will let someone enter heaven is God, the creator and owner of heaven. The teachings of Islam are clear that those who will enter heaven must prepare themselves while they are still alive in this world. And what must be prepared is not material wealth because life in heaven does not require sustenance like in the human world where one must work to obtain it. But heaven is a world of rewards. What must be prepared is “fear of God”, that is, when God orders you to do something, do it. When God forbids you to do something, refrain from it.
