เมื่อลูกอยู่ในวัยกำลังคลานหรือเดินเตาะแตะ  หากแม่เห็นลูกน้อยของตัวเองคลานหรือเดินไปที่กองไฟหรือไปยังระเบียงที่ไม่มีรั้วกั้น  แม่จะรีบไปดึงลูกน้อยของตัวเองออกมาทันที เพราะเด็กน้อยไม่ประสีประสา  นั่นคือสัญชาตญาณแห่งความรักของแม่ที่มาจากความเมตตาของพระเจ้า

แต่ไฟไม่ใช่สิ่งเดียวที่เป็นอันตรายต่อชีวิต โลกที่เราอาศัยอยู่ยังมีอบายมุขที่นำชีวิตไปสู่ความหายนะในโลกนี้และสูไฟนรกในโลกหน้า  ถ้าแม่มีชีวิตอยู่ แม่ก็จะเตือนลูกด้วยความรัก  แต่วันหนึ่ง  แม่ต้องจากไป ไม่มีใครคอยควบคุมหรือตักเตือนอีกแล้ว  ใครเล่าจะคอยควบคุมและตักเตือนลูกที่แม่รัก

"The Most Merciful" is one of God's titles by which He introduces Himself. Mercy is an abstract concept that cannot be drawn or sculpted. But if we see with our eyes and our minds, our hearts will immediately recognize the immeasurable and immense mercy.

One of these is Mother.

The Prophet Muhammad said that God bestows only one-hundredth of His mercy upon all living creatures on this earth. This is enough to prevent a mother from stepping on her young.

The other 99% of His mercy is reserved in the Hereafter for those who believe in Him and do good.

God's mercy for animals is an instinct that causes mothers to love and cherish their young, to the point of risking their own lives to save them.

For humans, a mother's love for her child is a mercy that God has extended to humans from generation to generation. A mother's love for her child begins from the time the child is in the womb, continues until birth and growth. If the child survives, the mother's love, derived from God's mercy, does not diminish because it is unconditional love.

When a child is crawling or toddling, If a mother sees her baby crawling or walking toward a fire or onto an unfenced balcony, she immediately pulls her baby out. This is a mother's loving instinct, born of God's mercy.

When the child grows up and realizes that fire is dangerous, she stays away, and she doesn't have to warn him.

But fire isn't the only danger to life. The world we live in still has vices that lead to destruction in this world and hellfire in the Hereafter. If I were alive, I would lovingly warn my child. But one day, I will be gone. No one will control or warn me anymore. Who will control and warn my beloved child?

My mother is gone, but God lives on. Therefore, in God's infinite mercy, He has put in place measures to control and protect humanity from falling into hellfire by requiring Muslims to pray five times a day. This is because the purpose of prayer is clearly stated in the Quran: "Verily, prayer prevents immorality and evil deeds" (Quran 29:45). Therefore, those who pray with a clear purpose are often afraid to commit evil, knowing that God is always watching.

This is why the Prophet Muhammad, sent as a mercy to all the worlds, mandated that Muslim parents send their children to religious education from the age of seven so that they would understand its teachings and be able to perform prayers by the age of 10. This was to equip children with moral and spiritual immunity from a young age.

Prayer is thus one of God's ongoing mercies towards humanity.
