นบีมุฮัมมัดเกิดเมื่อ ค.ศ.570 ในคาบสมุทรอาหรับที่ไร้อารยธรรม ในเวลานั้น ชาวอาหรับส่วนใหญ่ไม่รู้หนังสือและนบีมุฮัมมัดก็เป็นผู้ไม่รู้หนังสือเช่นกัน แต่เหตุผลที่พระเจ้าเลือกนบีมุฮัมมัดเป็นผู้รับคัมภีร์กุรอานที่ใช้ภาษาอันสูงส่งก็เพื่อไม่ให้มนุษย์คนใดอ้างว่าท่านเป็นผู้เขียนคัมภีร์กุรอานขึ้นมา

คัมภีร์กุรอานถูกประทานมาเพื่อเป็นทางนำในการดำเนินชีวิตของมนุษย์ ดังนั้น ในคัมภีร์กุรอานจึงมีเรื่องราวของมนุษย์รวมอยู่ด้วย แต่รายละเอียดบางอย่าง นบีมุฮัมมัดได้รับเอกสิทธิ์ให้เป็นผู้อธิบาย

“วิธีการที่พวกท่านแต่ละคนถูกสร้างมาก็คือ ท่านได้ถูกรวมเข้าไว้ในรังไข่ของแม่เป็นเวลาสี่สิบวันในตอนที่เป็นเชื้ออสุจิ หลังจากนั้นในระยะเวลาเท่าๆกันก็เป็นก้อนเลือด และหลังจากนั้นก็เป็นก้อนเนื้อในเวลาเท่าๆกัน หลังจากนั้น ทูตสวรรค์(มลาอิก๊ะฮฺ)องค์หนึ่งจะถูกส่งมาเป่าวิญญาณเข้าไปในท่านและมีหน้าที่ทำตามคำบัญชาสี่ประการ นั่นคือ กำหนดปัจจัยยังชีพของท่าน ช่วงอายุของท่าน การงานของท่านและท่านจะทุกข์หรือสุข”

นบีมุฮัมมัดไม่รู้หนังสือ ท่านจึงไม่พูดสิ่งใดนอกจากสิ่งที่พระเจ้าบัญชาหรือดลใจให้ท่านพูดเพื่ออธิบายวจนะของพระเจ้า คำพูดดังกล่าวข้างต้นของท่านบอกให้เรารู้ว่า :

1. วิญญาณมนุษย์มีอยู่ก่อนแล้วและได้ถูกทูตสวรรค์นำมาจุติเมื่อเสปิร์มในน้ำอสุจิของผู้ชายปฏิสนธิกับไข่ในครรภ์ของผู้หญิงได้ 120 วัน

2. มนุษย์ไม่สามารถเลือกเกิดในครอบครัวที่พ่อแม่ร่ำรวย พระเจ้าต่างหากที่เป็นผู้กำหนด แต่ปัจจัยยังชีพมิได้มีแต่เฉพาะเงินเท่านั้น เพราะปัจจัยยังชีพในอิสลามยังหมายรวมถึงสุขภาพ สติปัญญา ความสามารถ อากาศที่หายใจ ครอบครัวและอื่นๆซึ่งแต่ละคนได้รับแตกต่างกันไป

3. ช่วงอายุของมนุษย์แต่ละคน พระเจ้าเป็นผู้กำหนดในฐานะที่พระองค์เป็นผู้สร้างชีวิต มนุษย์จึงไม่รู้ว่าตัวเองจะตายเมื่อใด ที่ไหนและอย่างไร ถ้าใครยังไม่ถึงคราวตาย ใครก็เอาชีวิตของเขาไม่ได้ แต่ถ้าถึงคราวตาย ใครก็ไม่สามารถช่วยเขาให้รอดได้ พิธีกรรมทำบุญต่ออายุจึงไม่มีในอิสลามและไม่มีวัตถุศักดิ์สิทธิ์ใดๆสามารถคุ้มครองชีวิตมนุษย์ได้ถ้าพระเจ้าจะเอาชีวิตของเขา

4. พระเจ้าสร้างมนุษย์มาไม่เพียงแต่มีหน้าตาแตกต่างกันเท่านั้น แต่ยังให้มนุษย์มีความรู้ความสามารถที่แตกต่างกันด้วย ทั้งนี้เพื่อให้มนุษย์พึงพาอาศัยซึ่งกันและกันในการทำงานสร้างสรรค์ความเจริญและอารยธรรม

5. ทุกข์กับสุข ดีและร้ายเป็นสิ่งที่พระเจ้าสร้างขึ้นมาเป็นของคู่กันเช่นเดียวกับสิ่งอื่นๆที่พระองค์สร้างมาเป็นคู่เพื่อเป็นหลักฐานยืนยันว่าพระองค์เท่านั้นที่เป็นหนึ่งเดียว มนุษย์จะได้รับความทุกข์และสุขสลับกันไป มากน้อยหรือยาวนานเพียงใดขึ้นอยู่กับพระองค์ คำสอนศาสนาถูกส่งมาเพื่อสอนมนุษย์ให้รู้ว่าควรจะใช้ความสุขอย่างไรไม่ให้เกิดความทุกข์ตามมา และเมื่อประสบความทุกข์ มนุษย์ควรจะใช้ชีวิตอย่างไรให้มีความสุขตามอัตภาพแม้จะอยู่บนกองทุกข์ก็ตาม

ทั้งหมดที่กล่าวมาข้างต้นเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของหลักศรัทธาในการกฎกำหนดของพระเจ้า มุสลิมจึงเชื่อว่าทุกสิ่งที่เป็นไปรอบตัวมนุษย์และสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นกับตัวเองมิได้เป็นเพราะความบังเอิญ แต่เป็นสิ่งที่พระเจ้าได้กำหนดไว้แล้วสำหรับมนุษย์ทุกคนไม่ว่าจะดีหรือร้าย

ดังนั้น ไม่ว่าจะประสบเรื่องดีหรือร้ายในชีวิต มุสลิมจะกล่าวคำว่า “อัลฮัมดุลิลลาฮฺ” (การสรรเสริญเป็นของพระเจ้า) เป็นการน้อมรับพระประสงค์ของพระองค์

The Quran was revealed to guide human life. Therefore, it includes human stories. However, the Prophet Muhammad was privileged to explain certain details.

Life has many dimensions. The Quran says that God created man from clay and sent the first humans to the world to propagate the human race. However, regarding the birth of mankind in the womb and the future of mankind on this planet, the Prophet Muhammad once said:

“The way each of you was created is that you were joined to your mother's ovary for forty days as sperm, and then, after an equal period, as a clot of blood.” And then, it becomes a lump of flesh for the same amount of time. After that, an angel (an angel) will be sent to breathe his soul into you and carry out four commands: determine your sustenance, your lifespan, your deeds, and whether you will suffer or be happy.”

The Prophet Muhammad was illiterate, so he spoke nothing but what God commanded or inspired him to say to explain God's Word. His aforementioned words tell us:

1. The human soul already exists and is incarnated by angels after the sperm in a man's semen fertilizes the egg in a woman's womb for 120 days.

2. Humans cannot choose to be born into families with wealthy parents; God determines it. However, sustenance in Islam includes more than just money. Sustenance in Islam also includes health, intelligence, abilities, the air they breathe, family, and other things, which each person receives differently.

3. The lifespan of each person is determined by God as the Creator of life. Therefore, humans do not know when, where, or how they will die. If death is not yet their turn, no one can take their life. However, if death comes, no one can save them. Therefore, there is no ritual offering to prolong life in Islam, and no sacred object can protect human life if God takes it.

4. God created humans not only with different appearances, but also with different abilities and abilities. This is to ensure that humans depend on each other in the work of creating progress and civilization.

5. Happiness and suffering, good and bad, are created by God as a pair, just like all other things. He creates them in pairs as proof that He is the only One. Humans will experience alternating happiness and suffering, the extent and duration of which depends on Him. Religious teachings were sent to teach humans how to use happiness to avoid suffering, and when experiencing suffering, how humans should live happily according to their own abilities, even if they are in misery.

All of the above is part of the belief in God's decree. Muslims therefore believe that everything around us and what happens to us is not by chance, but is predestined by God for all humans, whether good or bad.

Therefore, regardless of whether we experience good or bad in life, Muslims say "Alhamdulillah" (Praise be to God) in acceptance of His will.
